Founding Agent Experience Engineer
The web is moving from humans clicking through dashboards to agents talking to agents. Teleperson is the consumer side of that future: every customer gets their own AI agent that handles their accounts, support tickets, renewals, and disputes by negotiating directly with the brand-side agents on the other end. As our founding Agent Experience Engineer you'll own the runtime that makes those conversations feel effortless — from the moment a user delegates a task to the moment their agent reports back with a result.
Why this role matters
You'll be employee #1 on the runtime that defines what "an AI agent doing your chores" actually feels like. Every line you ship is in front of real consumers who are tired of waiting on hold.
What you'll do
- Design and ship the end-to-end runtime that consumer agents use to dispatch tasks to vendor agents over A2A and MCP
- Own the streaming UI, transcript, and approval flows so users can intervene at any point in an agent-to-agent negotiation
- Instrument every step of an agent conversation — token usage, tool calls, latency, refusal reasons — and feed it back into evals
- Partner with product to turn fuzzy outcomes ("get this bill lowered") into structured tasks an agent can actually execute
- Set the engineering bar for the rest of the agent platform team: code review, testing strategy, on-call playbooks
What we're looking for
- 5+ years shipping production TypeScript / React (Next.js or similar)
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs in production — tool use, function calling, streaming, structured output
- Comfort designing systems where the "API" is a model that occasionally lies, drifts, or stalls
- Strong product instincts; you can disagree with a PRD and ship something better
- Excited to work fully remote across overlapping US time zones
Nice to have
- Built or contributed to an A2A, MCP, or multi-agent framework
- Worked on a consumer product where users delegate real money or real accounts to software
- Comfortable in Supabase / Postgres and edge functions
